Once the plate has been marked it is covered in ink and wet paper is
placed over it. The plate is then put through a hand turned roller press
(it looks like an old fashioned mangle) and the image is printed onto the
paper. Naturally, every image has subtle differences, depending upon whether
the plate is new or old and how much ink has been placed on the plate.
The print is then left to dry flat and is then signed, numbered (eg 1/35;
this means number 1 out of 35 prints) mounted and framed.
